Journals, 1686-1745

Scope and Contents

This series consists of personal journals kept by Aaron Bordman and Andrew Bordman II. The notebook used by both Aaron Bordman and Andrew Bordman II contains entries with various personal and occupational information including accounting records and genealogical notes. The volume appears to include items purchased for their Cambridge store and saddling business.

The annotated almanacs were kept by Andrew Bordman II from 1736-1745 and vary in content. Earlier almanacs contain only a few entries, while the later interleaved volumes have more substantial and consistent entries. In some of the volumes, the writings is faded into near illegibility. The almanacs were used to record short bits of information including the weather, financial information, and local news such as deaths and burials.
