Sermons, 1755-1776 and undated
Scope and Contents
This chronological series contains six sermons written by Langdon; most appear to have been delivered on several occasions. One sermon was delivered by Langdon to the Continental Army in Cambridge, Massachusetts in May of 1775, during his service as Army chaplain.
These sermons are written in shorthand. Researchers may wish to consult The Self-Taught Stenographer, or, Stenographic Guide; explaining The Principles and Rules of The Art of Short-Hand Writing by E.B. Bigelow, for help in decoding Langdon's shorthand.
