Scope and Contents
Contains correspondence relaying details on the utility and performance of chronometers made by William Bond & Son, apparently in response to a request by the company for testimony, dated 1901-1903. Correspondents include Captain C.H. Davis (1845-1921), superintendent of the United States Naval Observatory. Several government agencies sent letters declining to give testimonials, citing internal policy. There is also a handwritten draft of a circular by William Bond & Son.
