Scope and Contents
Contains correspondence and some printed material related to the administration of the Harvard College Observatory, dated from 1850 to 1921. Topics include the deposit of an engraved plate, a new asteroid observed in 1857, academic matters, and instrumentation. There are also printed memorials to astronomer Sidney Coolidge (1830-1863), an assistant to George P. Bond, who died in the American Civil War, and a document concerning a change to Eastern Time, in addition to an unsigned, undated illustration of islands in the Pacific Ocean.
