People in Stores (aka PiS) was a Boston-based band from the formative post-punk era of the early 80s. The band performed in the Boston area and elsewhere in New England from 1979-1983. PiS had a uniquely strange and intellectual approach to the crafting of a pop song. Band members were co-founders with other Boston bands of Propeller - the artist-run collective record label. The band recorded a single, an EP and contributed to the Propeller Records compilation tape during its recording days.
