General note

Recordings were made in the village of Namtsy on May 25, 1970 in the home of G.A. Priadeznikov. Performers include Samson Yegorovich (last name unknown, b. 1901), G.A. Priadeznikov and his daughter Zinaida Priadeznikova, “white” shaman and healer Vasiliy Egorovich Protopopov (90 years old), and others. Folklorist Piotr Nikiforovich Popov participated in the recordings.

The Music Library’s collecting mission is to serve music teaching and research programs in the Music Department and throughout the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
