Contains ephemera collected by curators of the Printing and Graphic Arts department at Houghton Library, including invitations, pamphlets, brochures, books and booklets, calendars, announcements, typescript samples, and other types of ephemera. Some examples of these are miniature books featuring prints by artists such as David Hockney and Henri Matisse, materials from various presses such as Arion, Penmaen, Louis Prang, Roswitha Quadflieg, Robert Isaacson Gallery, Rollo Silver, the Society of Printers, Southworth, Stinehour, Tidel, Thomas Todd Company, H. Robinson William, Walker and Company, and many more. Additional materials are invitations, awards, certificates, and other ephemera directed to Printing and Graphic Arts department curators and staff, including Philip Hofer, Katharine Pantzer, and others.

Biographical / Historical

The Department of Printing and Graphic Arts is one of Houghton Library's areas of collecting. It includes artifacts from all periods illustrating the book arts and historical development of the book, whether manuscript or printed. Further materials collected include ephemeral materials related to printing and typography
