Includes photographs of theatrical companies, groups, and related organizations. The portraits range from approximately 1860 through the first decades of the twentieth century. Many have the name of the theatrical organization printed or written on the photographs, while some have organizational and individual names noted, dates, and further information noted on the back. The types of theatrical organizations included range from governing bodies such as the Association of Theatre Managers of Greater New York and the Theatre Guild Board of Directors, Hollis Street Theatre, to theatrical performing companies like the Boston Museum Company, the Deutschen Theatre New York, the Providence Lady Orchestra, George Thatcher's Minstrels, the Temple Quartette, among others. A few unidentified groups of performers are included, including a collage of photographed publicity materials, as well as several phtoographs of an organization involved with a parade. One of these parade photographs is inscribed by actor David Belasco.

The theatrical organization photographs were grouped together due to similar format and content, and include photographs of theatrical performing companies and groups, as well as governing bodies for theatrical workers.
