3 linear feet (5 boxes)Includes scrapbooks, correspondence, theater production materials, and photographs from Howlett's theatrical career; a small collection of minstrel show props and costumes; and miscellaneous theater programs, magazines, clippings, and other printed material.
Biographical / Historical
Marion Angeline Howlett (1889-1983) (often known as Angela Howlett) worked as: director of touring productions of "The Circus" and "Movie Queen" with the Amateur Theatre Guild of Boston, 1937-1938; advertising manager of the Nell Gwyn Theatre in Malden Bridge, New York, 1938-1939; and publicity director of the Boothbay Playhouse in Boothbay, Maine, 1940-1941. She maintained a life-long interest in the theater and was an avid collector of theater materials.
