Documents relating to the seizure, on December 14, 1775, of goods from an apothecary shop run by Peter Roberts and owned by Thomas Bulfinch, at the order of General William Howe for the use of the British General Hospital. The volume contains Bulfinch's power of attorney; affidavits by Kneeland, Hoffains, and Joy; a notarized copy of the minutes of a Boston town meeting; a notarized copy of a letter to Bulfinch from M. Morris; and a document signed by Hancock with the state seal testifying to the legitimacy of Quincy and Price as justices.
Bound in quarter green cloth with marbled paper boards.
Biographical / Historical
Dr. Thomas Bulfinch (1728-1802) was a physician in Boston. He received an AB from Harvard College in 1746.
