Biographical / Historical
Jerome Timothy Kilty, born 1922 in Baltimore (Md.), died 2012 in Norwalk (Conn.), was an actor, director, and playwright. Kilty was raised on the Pala Indian Reservation in California and attended Lowell High School in San Francisco. While an undergraduate at Harvard, he co-founded the Brattle Theatre Company in Cambridge (Mass.). He married actress Cavada Humphrey (1919- 2007) in 1956. Kilty was best known for his play Dear Liar based on the correspondence of Bernard Shaw and Beatrice Rose Stella Tanner (Mrs. Patrick Campbell).
