Theatrical materials collected by theater fan, Herbert Hugh Harvey, including: photographic postcards (and 1 cabinet photograph) of images of both Herbert Beerbohm Tree and Maud Tree in various acting roles primarily at His Majesty’s Theatre (London, England); picture postcards from plays; a letter from Maud Tree to Herbert Hugh Harvey; and theater programs and clippings mostly from productions at His Majesty’s Theatre.

Biographical / Historical

Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree (1853-1917) was born Herbert Draper Beerbohm, and was an English actor and manager. Tree also helped finance the building, and then became manager of (1897-1917), His/Her Majesty's Theatre in London. In 1904 Tree established the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and he was knighted in 1909. His wife and business partner was English actress Lady Maud Tree (1863-1937), born Helen Maud Holt.
