1 collection (1 volume (.4 linear ft.))

Mrs. Charles Francis Adams (Abigail (Brooks) Adams, 1808-1899) and her son, Henry Adams, compiled the album while they resided in London. A note on the inside front cover written by Marian Lawrence Peabody concerns the album's provenance. The early section is annotated in Henry Adams' hand. The volume was later bought and added to by George Peabody and later by John Endicott Peabody and his son, Endicott Peabody. A manuscript index in the volume and many of the identifying labels are in the hand of Henry Adams. The number in square brackets at the end of each item indicates the page on which it is mounted.
