The bulk of the collection is the 258 letters from Webster to Franklin Haven, president of the Merchant's National Bank of Boston. These concern personal financial matters as well as political affairs and appointments. Also contains correspondence of Haven and others, some of it concerning Webster's candidacy for president in 1852; and a few legal documents pertaining to Webster's estate.
