Howells, Henry James Sr., Henry James Jr., William James, H. C. Lea, Simon Newcomb, James Parton, William Dwight Whitney, Chauncey Wright, and others. There are also two indexes to the names of writers for the North American Review, arranged by issue number. One, by James Winthrop Harris, covers 1815-1842 (v. 1-55). The other covers 1815-1860 (v. 1-91).
