B. Musical notebooks of Pauline Viardot-García
Scope and Contents
Working notebooks with drafts, sketches and first versions of Viardot's songs, her operatic roles, some piano music, and other musical compositions, as well as vocal cadenzas and vocal exercises. Most notebooks arranged in dos-à-dos style with entries from both ends. Most notebooks without title, some with handwritten labels, some have encloses, and doodles. Many entries are too short or illegible to identify.
