General note

Package of copies of letters, papers, and other materials concerning foreign relations between Japan and the United States, sent from Grew to the U.S. secretary of state, Cordell Hull.

Included in the folder with the dispatch are copies of letters and telegrams addressed to: A. W. Eames, Henry Breckinridge, William Axling, John Burnett, Elmer Davis, Major M. F. Correa, Ernest Caldecott, Godfrey Cabot, G. R. Edmondson, Kenneth Colegrove, and Maurice Freeman.

Included as well is an original, signed, unsent letter to the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, dated August 14, 1942. The letter addresses Grew's report and analysis of Japan before the outbreak of war.
