All drawings in this series (except item 9) are on card-stock quality, postcard-sized, paper and are decorated on recto with an embossed gold scroll border. All drawings are stamped on verso in ink: "Harvard College Library Mar 28 1902."

All annotations are in the hand of Henry Hamilton.

The text is transcribed in full, though some words are written in very faint graphite and in those instances a ? follows the questionable word or is substituted for an unreadable word. Many of the details in the description are taken from the Walsh article or Dunnigan book listed above.

Titles have been assigned by the cataloger using Hamilton's annotations.

Drawings have been grouped together by mat number for storage purposes as noted below.

Houghton Library is Harvard College's principal repository for rare books and manuscripts, archives, and more. Houghton Library's collections represent the scope of human experience from ancient Egypt to twenty-first century Cambridge. With strengths primarily in North American and European history, literature, and culture, collections range in media from printed books and handwritten manuscripts to maps, drawings and paintings, prints, posters, photographs, film and audio recordings, and digital media, as well as costumes, theater props, and a wide range of other objects. Houghton Library has historically focused on collecting the written record of European and Eurocentric North American culture, yet it holds a large and diverse number of primary sources valuable for research on the languages, culture and history of indigenous peoples of the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
