The HFA Visiting Directors Audio Collection at the Harvard Film Archive consists of recordings of filmmakers and special guests at the Harvard Film Archive’s Cinematheque since 2008.

Recordings in the collection reflect the diversity of content in the HFA's regular screening series, which offers a public cinematheque program, presenting films Friday through Monday nights. All screenings are held in the Archive's 200-seat theater located in the historic Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts.

The HFA frequently invites filmmakers to discuss their work and engage with the vibrant community of students, professors, artists and cinephiles who regularly attend HFA screenings. Visitors in 2009 included mulit-talented American filmmakers William Friedkin and Paul Schrader, Swiss director Hannes Schüpbach, director Abderrahmane Sissako, as well as experimental filmmakers Ken Jacobs, James Benning and Stephen Prina. HFA programs dating back to 1999 are browsable on our Programs page.
