The IX. Scientific matters file consists of all papers, reports, thesis and research completed on the scientific effects of mercury pollution on the environment. It does not include more creative writings on the subject (These can be found in III. Writings file). Often subgroups contain supporting documentation to the finished work or correspondence.

The Environmental Science and Public Policy Archives (ESPPA) has materials in the fields of environment and sustainability science, related public policy, and cultural perspectives on the environment.
