Isabel Denison to Mildred Bliss about a telephone call from Madame Poplawska-Leineweber, wife of a professor at American University asking if she can offer two squirrels she has in her yard to Dumbarton Oaks to prevent them being killed by dogs or cats. A follow-up handwritten note to memorandum indicates Madame Poplawska-Leineweber did not realize how many squirrels were already at Dumbarton Oaks when she made the request.

She spoke of the garden as a highlight of their trip and thanks Mildred Bliss for allowing them to see it. The monogram at the top of the letter is SMR. Letter undated, probably written between 1930-1962, the later date is the year her husband died.
