Typescript letter with handwritten signature from Beatrix Farrand to John Thacher tells him Max Farrand is not well and going to be examined bydoctors in Boston. She is unable to arrive at Dumbarton Oaks as planned and if unable to give the lecture will ask Mausell Van Rensselaer to give either her lecture or one on the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. She will let him know at once what the doctor's plans are.
