Scope and Contents

Contract for ironwork between District Ornamental Iron Works, Philip Finelli owner and Mildred Bliss, December 7, 1951 for work to be done on the wrought iron rail for the North Vista. Ruth Havey provided the contract documents for the wrought iron rail for the North Vista at Dumbarton Oaks. The specifications for fabrication, finishing and setting the rail were included as well as drawings: plans and south elevation 11/7/51 (GD G-3-42A); F.S.D. scroll panel 6/11/51 (GD G-3-42B); F.S. elevation of west gate 11/16/51 (GD G-3-42C); and F.S. details for west gate 11/16/51 (GD G-3-42D). Handwritten signatures by Ruth Havey on behalf of Mildred Bliss, owner and by Philip Finelli for District Ornamental Iron Works. Stamped in black ink with District Ornamental Iron Works above signature line for contractor.
