Typescript letter and price quote from S. James Todd, Conard-Pyle Co. to Beatrix Farrand. He tells her there are five roses on her order that they can not supply. He does not know of any rose grower who can provide those. He says the rose shortage is to blame for this based on the losses in the rose fields for the prior winter and that the Army, Navy, and war industries have taken away experienced help. They will selling unsold stock. The price quote includes prices and a discount for 128 roses for 14 different varieties.
