Letter from Beatrix Farrand, 1650 Orlando Road, San Marino, California to Anne Sweeney, Dumbarton Oaks, Washington, D.C., February 10, 1937 Digital
Scope and Contents
Handsigned typescript letter on Beatrix Farrand letterhead for which the location was crossed out and new location typed on letter. Beatrix Farrand tells Anne Sweeney that catalogue documents will be sent to her piecemeal. She suggests consulting a Rehder book for names of trees, shrubs and shrub-like material and to Bailey's Cyclopedia of Horticulture for the herbaceous material (annuals and anual climbers such as nasturtiums, sweetpeas, etc.). She provides further direction to Anne Sweeney on locating pictures for all the plants, trees, shrubs, and wild flowers and feels the trees are going to be the hardest to get. Letter probably signed on Beatrix Farrand's behalf by Miss Mary Fulkerson, a typist.
