M. Hospital Activities and Events, late 1960’s to mid-1970s.

Scope and Contents

Consists of 805, 35mm color slides of various hospital activities including lectures, patient care, hospital operations, construction projects, nursing school ceremonies and other events. Although most of the images are unidentified as to specific persons or moments depicted, the majority can generally be dated to the late 1960’s to mid-1970s. There are a few reproductions of older images related to hospital history. Many images of buildings and streets in the neighborhood of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, such as the Countway Library, Harvard Medical School, Children’s Hospital, the Boston Lying Hospital, and the Robert B. Brigham Hospital can be found among these slides, as are images related to the design and start of construction of the Affiliated Hospitals Center Inc., hospital tower. Slide images of several oil painting portraits of Peter Bent Brigham Hospital doctors are also included.

Access requires advance notice. Access to unpublished administrative records is restricted for 50 years from the date of creation. Patient information is restricted indefinitely.
