SUB-SERIES Identifier: BWH c3

A. Serials, 1943–1977.

Scope and Contents

Subseries VII-A consists primarily of issues of the Brigham Bulletin which began publication in 1943 as a way to keep members of the staff serving in the Armed Forces “acquainted with what’s what and who’s who” at the hospital. Publication was suspended from 1946 through 1949. In 1950 publication resumed for the benefit of the “Peter Bent Brigham [Hospital] Family” and evolved into a semi-quarterly publication by the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital’s “…Department of Public Relations for distribution to staff, patients, and former associates.” Publication by the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital ended in 1977. The frequency of issues changed several times from 1943 to 1977. This series also includes a few issues of other hospital newsletters. Brigham Bulletin issues from 1943 through 1977 have been digitized and are searchable online through Harvard’s Hollis Library catalog, or via this link: http://nrs.harvard.edu/urn-3:HMS.COUNT:8002103
