VII. Special Project Records, 1913–2014.
Scope and Contents
Consists of records from projects undertaken by staff and others to meet specific requirements or goals. Records include construction project plans and photographs; material related to various exhibits at the hospital; and notes, research, draft manuscripts, transcripts, and/or published works related to the history of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and its predecessor hospitals, school of nursing, hospital departments, and prominent staff. Contains copies of drawings made by the firm of Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, Inc. in the 1980s for revisions to the PBBH Administration building and wings. Box 45 contains slides, prints, and clippings collected by Nicholas L. Tilney, MD. They were used for his many lectures on hospital history and some were used to illustrate his books. Subject matter includes the Peter Pent Brigham Hospital, Elliot Cutler, Carl Walter, PBBH faculty, transplantation, cardiac surgery, Harvey Cushing, Francis Moore, and chief residents.

Access requires advance notice. Access to unpublished administrative records is restricted for 50 years from the date of creation. Patient information is restricted indefinitely. Restricted records, except restricted patient photographs, are noted in the finding aid. Researchers may apply for access to restricted material.
