Scope and Contents

Subseries A contains research notes, studies records, and correspondence from EHK's work on infectious diseases topics during his tenure at the TML. Includes research notes, studies records, and correspondence from EHK's research on the treatment of pyelonephritis; studies and correspondence from EHK's work on bacteriuria, heart and plasma volume, and antibiotic drug treatments; records from EHK’s research on the occurrence of pyelonephritis and bacteriuria during pregnancy, and additional correspondence from EHK's efforts to assist physicians conducting pyelonephritis studies in other countries including Norway and Jamaica. Correspondence and writings pertaining to pyelonephritis, antimicrobial treatments, and afflictions including hypertension, kidney disease, and renal disease are located throughout Series IIIA and Series IX. Subseries A also includes statistics, correspondence, and patient data from EHK's participation in many collaborative sickle cell anemia studies.
