Marion Daniel Shutter (1853-1939) graduated from Wooster College with a BA in 1876 and an MA in 1879. He also earned a BD from the University of Chicago and a DD from St. Lawrence University, both in 1891. He was awarded an LLD from Fargo College in 1921. He served his entire career at the Church of the Redeemer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served as the president of the Universalist General Convention from 1911 to 1915.
