Biographical / Historical
Henry Goodson Ives (1872-1940), an immigrant from England, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1897 and from Harvard Divinity School in 1904. Ordained to both the Unitarian and Universalist denominations, he served pastorates in Andover, New Hampshire, and Amherst, Pittsfield, and Dighton, Massachusetts. As an English citizen he enlisted in the 5th Royal Canadian Highlanders during World War I and served as chaplain of the Taunton, Massachusetts, American Legion Post on his return from the war.
