Biographical / Historical
Ebenezer Thayer (1734-1792) was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard in 1753, and was a tutor at Harvard from 1760-1766. He was ordained a Congregational minister at Hampton, New Hampshire in 1766, and settled there permanently as pastor of the Congregational church for twenty-six years. He married Martha Cotton, and they had six children.
