Overview
Papers of Universalist minister Asa Mayo Bradley (1856-1937) consisting primarily of materials relating to Universalism on Cape Cod, including Bradley's own My Cape Cod Story and a collection of notes entitled Notes on Societies in New Hampshire. There is also a series of addresses, Universalism on Cape Cod, by Cyrus A. Bradley, a Universalist minister in Cape Cod for over 40 years, and the father of Asa Mayo Bradley.

There is also a series of addresses, Universalism on Cape Cod, by Cyrus A. Bradley, a Universalist minister in Cape Cod for over 40 years, and the father of Asa Mayo Bradley.These addresses originally span the years 1878 to 1903, but were edited and annotated by A. M. Bradley ca. 1933.
Biographical / Historical
Asa Mayo Bradley (1856-1937) was born in Brewster, Massachusetts. He entered the ministry after having worked in cabinet-making for over 20 years, and was ordained in the Universalist Church by the California State Convention in 1895. Bradley held mission pastorates in Spokane, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, from 1895 to 1897 and then served congregations in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Bradley was the secretary for the New Hampshire Universalist Convention from 1921 to 1936 and was made state superintendent of New Hampshire in 1928, a position he held until his retirement in 1936 as superintendent emeritus. In 1934, he received an honorary doctor of divinity from Tufts University. Bradley died in 1937 in Kingston, New Hampshire.
