Pierpont, Jonathan, 1665-1709. Diary, 1682-1709.

Diary of Jonathan Pierpont (1665-1709), a Congregational minister who was born in Roxbury, Boston and was settled in Reading in 1689. The diary contains his handwritten entries from 1682-1708. A note written in 1709 indicates he died in that year.

The diary contains Pierpont’s handwritten entries from 1682 to 1708, and it describes Pierpont’s daily activities as a minister, as well as some recollections from his childhood. The last entry in the diary by Pierpont is dated 1708, and then there is a notation that says “Rev. Jonathan Pierpont died 2 June 1709.”

Biographical / Historical

Jonathan Pierpont was the son of Robert and Sarah Pierpont. He was born in Roxbury, Boston on June 10, 1665. He became a Congregational minister, and was settled in Reading (which later became part of Wakefield) in June, 1689. He died in June, 1709.
