The bulk of this collection consists of sermons delivered at the First Unitarian Church of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and the Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs, Florida, between 1972 and 1984. Also contained in the collection are course and lecture materials, personal files, and writings, which include articles published by Ziegler in The Christian Leader and The Universalist Leader.

Biographical / Historical

Albert Frederick Ziegler (1911-1991) was born in South Boston, Massachusetts. He received his BA from Northeastern University in 1935, his STB from Tufts University in 1945, and his DD from the Meadville Theological School in 1971. Ziegler was ordained in 1945 at the Universalist Church in Rockport, Massachusetts. He served at churches in Rockport, Wakefield, Somerville, Melrose, Chatham, and Provincetown, Massachusetts, among others. He served the First Unitarian Church of Shaker Heights, Ohio, from 1972 to 1976; and the Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs, Florida, from 1976 to 1985, where he was made minister emeritus. Ziegler is also the author of Words of Life: 1954 Lenten Meditations (1954) and Foundations of Faith: Conversations on a Theological Approach to Universalism (1959).
