The Boston & Lynn India Rubber Manufacturing Company was run by Charles C. Nichols and Gardner Kellogg, as well as treasurers Joseph Eveleth and E. Eldridge. There were two stores in business, one in Boston and the other in New York City that was acquired by Samuel Chase. It was through Chase and H.A. Breed that the company was connected with the Nahant Bank in Lynn and also the Atlas Bank in Boston through E. Eldridge. The company failed as result of the financial crisis known as the Panic of 1837.
