Wilbur B. England was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned a BA from Western Reserve University in 1926 and an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS) in 1930. England worked as a research associate at HBS from 1930-1932, before moving to the private sector as an executive with the RKO Theatre Corporation and vice president and treasurer of A.B.C. Vending Corporation. He returned to HBS in 1954 as an authority on marketing and industrial procurement. In 1967, England became the Kresge Professorship of Marketing. England retired from active faculty in 1970. He died in 1991.
