Biographical / Historical

The Royal Company, or Real Compañía de la Habana, founded in Havana, Cuba, in 1740, was a collaboration between the Spanish Crown and Cuban merchants focused on sugar and tobacco trade and shipbuilding. The firm also engaged in slave trading and privateering.
