Biographical / Historical

George Mixter was born in 1842, son of William and Mary Ruggles Mixter. He attended Phillips Andover Academy and graduated from Harvard College in 1863. Later he became a banker and mercantile paper distributor in Boston. He retained his father's Hardwick farm and bred Guernsey cows there. He never married and died in 1910.
