Biographical / Historical

William Mortonwas an agent for wholesale marketing businesses based in Boston in the 1830s and 1840s, first partnering with John Thompson to form the firm of Thompson and Morton, and then partnering with William Morton to form successor firm of Fay and Martin. Morton sold primarily to businesses in Maine, which involved frequent to travel to collect money due on notes and acceptances to the firm.
