Biographical Note:

Herbert Somerton Foxwell was a lecturer and teacher of political economy at St. John's College, Cambridge, and at University College, London, and a book collector of economic literature. His first collection of books was purchased in 1901 by The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths who donated it to the University of London. His second collection was acquired after his death by the Harvard Business School through the monetary donation made by Claude Washington Kress and formed the basis of the Kress Library of Business and Economics in Baker Library.
