Scope and Content:
This collection contains sixteen volumes which include administrative records, dividend books, ledgers, day books, journals, registers,and expense account books. Also included are excerpts of resolutions passed at directors meetings and receipts for expenses. Originally, the receipts were included within the pages of the expense account book. Records document day-to-day activities of the bank with particular emphasis on administrative decisions. These include the costs of doing business as well as types of banking transactions undertaken. Stockholders resided in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.

The Ascutney Bank, in Windsor, Vermont,changed its name to "Ascutney National Bank of Windsor "on December 10, 1864. During most of the mid-nineteenth century, Hiram Harlow remained actively involved as stockholder, director and president of the bank.
