This is a video recording produced by Digital Equipment Corp. regarding the "State of the Company" in May 1989. This is the second of three parts. It focuses on Digital's philosophy and values and includes clips of the state of the company presentation. In 1989, Digital Equipment was in the process of revisiting its values in order to clarify them and to make sure the new employees understand them. Ken Olsen discusses the core values of the company and states that its employees are its most valued asset. The integrity, hard work, and loyalty of DEC employees make the company go. Olsen states that the Digital needs to support innovation and accept mistakes, and provides examples of business innovations and errors that resulted in successful products.
