Series IIIA. Scientist research and development records, 1937-1987, bulk: 1940s-1970s
Scope and Contents
This series contains the records of Polaroid scientists and their research relating to the development of Polaroid products. The series has been arranged alphabetically by the scientists' last name. Much of the material in the records and subject files overlaps and corresponds with projects in Subseries II. Photographic Process Research and Development records and Subseries III. Cameras and other projects. The scientist records consist of subject files, memos, correspondence, scientific publications, patents and research and tests of film speed, dye transfer, developers, polarizers, vectographs and three dimensional images and movies. Not all Polaroid scientists are represented here; only scientists who had clear groupings of records or subject files. The bulk of the material in this series dates from the 1940s to the 1960s and has been kept in its original order.
