Scope and Contents
Accounts of bar iron sold to Massachusetts Bay Colony Governor John Endecott (1588?-1665), Henry Webb, Samuel Bennett, Andrew Mansfield, and Salem merchant George Corwin, among others, and accounts current of the iron works, dated 1651-1652. Includes company disbursements like supplies, materials, and provisions for Scottish indentured workers, and hiring general labor, masons, and men to work the furnace and mine. There are also accounts of bar iron sent to the forge, furnace, and slitting mill, and to blacksmith Samuel Harte for use by indentured Scottish workers to make tools.
