Contains invoices of John & Thomas Amory for imports, dated August-October 1783. Goods from England include cottons, frying pans, buttons, brass warming pans, reference and religious texts, ink pots, tea pots, iron candlesticks, tobacco boxes, table hinges, padlocks, chamber shovel tongs, snaffle bits, women's stirrups, knives, scissors, hammers, and hats. From Glasgow, Scotland, the firm imported tartan and Kilmarnock caps. Imports from Newcastle include steins, wine glasses, pints, drams, and mustard pots. The company transacted business with merchants such as Edward Dowling, Chamberlain & Sons, John Whittenbury & Co., Richard Prime & Co., Harrison, Ansley & Co., Jones, Harvard, Jones & Co., and Young, Auchincloss, Lang & Co.
