Scope and Contents

Records kept by the Sutton Bank, of Sutton, Massachusetts include meetings of the board of directors, a waste journal, unbound papers including shares, deeds, and letters. Vol. 1 contains records of the meetings of the board of directors, by-laws and regulations, 1828-1839 and vol. 2 is a waste journal showing the activities of the bank, 1828-1831.

Biographical / Historical

The Sutton Bank was established and incorporated in 1828 in Sutton, Massachusetts. David Wilkinson, a local mill owner and machinist, was a major investory in the bank.
