Scope and Contents
Ledger of Hazard, Robinson & Co., dated 1794-1796, related to coastwise and West Indies shipping and retail trade in Charleston. There is an index to individuals, businesses, vessels, voyages, and types of accounts at the front of the volume. Included are accounts of an adventure of the sloop Maryland to Petit-Goâv, Haiti, commissions, customhouse bonds, rice, bills and notes, and some loose accounts and statements laid in, such as disbursements on the sloop New York Packet. Among the merchants in the volume are Henry Collins Flagg (1742-1801), Kirk & Lukens, Rosanna Budd, Christopher Champlin, George Champlin, Sylvanus Hussey, Mary Morton, Samuel Allen, Zachary Allen, and David Anthony.
