Scope and Contents
Bills of exchange dated from 1782 to 1792. Included are orders for payment in Spanish milled dollars to Richard Woodhull by Joseph Pynchon of New Haven, Connecticut, and to George Champlin of Newport, Rhode Island, from his sister, Katherine Hulburne, addressed to Boston merchant Isaac Winslow; and a certificate from Boston merchants Samuel Parkman, Mungo Merkey, Joseph Coolidge, and Joseph Foster stating their opinion regarding the rate of exchange for public bills on Paris, with a note appended in French.
