Scope of the collection: These are a subset of the records of the Harvard College Observatory. These photographs depict the staff activities including travel and research, of the Harvard College Observatory as well as the the landscape, buildings, and equipment in Cambridge and at observatory stations in Colorado, California, Jamaica, and South America (chiefly Peru). Research was primarily astronomical, but also included some meteorological observation.

Scope and Contents: The collection includes 2,195 political cartoons published between 9 January 1884 to 27 October 1940. The cartoons detail the life and career of Theodore Roosevelt beginning when he was a New York State Assemblyman to the time of his death. The cartoons critique various moments of Roosevelt’s career as a politician, natural historian and nature conservator, military veteran, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and New York Police Commissioner.
